Homemade Chicken Broth
Ingredients
leftover organic roasted chicken carcass or 2 pounds leftover chicken parts (bones, skin, etc.)
2 small diced onions
3 diced celery stalks
4-5 garlic cloves
optional: add vegetables or fresh herbs as desired
optional: add a dash of apple cider vinegar
optional: add salt and pepper (approx. 2 teaspoons each)
filtered water to cover
Steps
Place all ingredients in a pot and add the water last until it covers the chicken parts.
Bring to a boil and skim off any foam that rises to the top. Turn down to low immediately so that it's just at a simmer.
Simmer covered for 4 hours.
Pour the chicken broth through a strainer and store in a Mason jar.
